Because dental compressors handle clean, dry, and oil-free air, critical for patient safety and dental tools, humidity and moisture is the number one enemy for compressors kept outside.
📋 Survival Tips
🏠 1. Install in a Weatherproof, Insulated Shed or Cabinet
Use a well-ventilated but sealed enclosure
Add thermal insulation and small heater for winter.
Include fans or louvered vents for airflow in summer.
🌡️ 2. Control Temperature & Humidity
Target operating temp: +5°C to +40°C (41°F to 104°F).
Use a dehumidifier inside the enclosure if you're in a damp area.
🔧 3. Maintain Sterile Air Quality Systems
Check/replace air intake filters, bacterial filters, and dryers regularly.
Monitor dew point to ensure air stays dry - crucial for hygiene compliance.
Log filter changes and service for compliance/audits.
🔒 4. Security & Vermin Proofing
Keep the unit locked and fully sealed from insects and rodents - contamination is not an option.
Add anti-vibration mounts if the cabinet is attached to a building to reduce noise/vibration.
